Tips for first-time camper drivers

It is not hard, but there are a few things worth knowing in advance.

  • Vehicle height — The camper is 3+ metres tall. Check height limits at underpasses and garages (avoid city garages).
  • Parking — Campers need more space. At rest areas look for "camper parking" or stellplatz spots.
  • Water and power — Plan your fresh-water use (120 L). At campsites, connect to power to charge the batteries and run the AC.
  • Cassette toilet — Empty it at campsites or stellplatz spots. Do not use chemicals incompatible with the cassette toilet.
  • Apps — Install ParkMyVan, Campercontact and Park4Night to find free stellplatz spots in Croatia.
